Company premiere: Philip Glass's La Belle et la Bête
What first seems to take the artificiality of opera too far eventually gives the film new magic through the transformative power of music.
LA Opera returned to the Theatre at Ace Hotel for its third annual Halloween offering: the sumptuous Philip Glass score for Jean Cocteau’s cinematic masterpiece La Belle et la Bête, performed live by four vocal soloists and the Philip Glass Ensemble.
